Sojourn Apartment Hotel - Ghuznee

The room I chose was spacious, and although the bathroom was quite small, it did the job. I also liked having access to a good offsite gym, which was part of why I picked the hotel. It’s right by Cuba Street, with lots of cafés and restaurants close by, and the rest of the CBD is an easy walk. For a lower-priced Wellington hotel, it was comfortable and had what I needed for a work trip. It’s not luxury, and light sleepers may hear Cuba Street at weekends or the cleaners in the morning. That noise wasn’t too bad for me. I’d stay here again for work or an event, especially if I wasn’t planning to spend much time in the room.

The free parking just off Cuba Street was a real bonus, and the price was amazing value. We stayed two nights at the Sojourn apartment hotel at the end of February 2026, during a five-week trip around New Zealand. The kitchenette had everything we needed, including a microwave, kettle, toaster and dishwasher. Having a free washer and dryer was especially useful on our journey. It ticked all our boxes for central Wellington accommodation. Highly recommend.

The nearby garage was handy, and there are lots of good cafés and restaurants around the hotel. We found it easy to explore Wellington on foot, with many attractions within walking distance. Our room was clean, well kept and had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. The location was excellent, and the value for money was unbeatable. We’d happily come back.

We slept brilliantly here. The bed was sensational after a couple of weeks travelling, and there was a nice choice of pillows. Our high-up room had a great city view and was surprisingly quiet. It was also spacious and absolutely immaculate, so congratulations to the cleaners. The kitchenette was well equipped, though we only used it to boil water. It had a microwave and cooktop for a quick meal. The shower had a strong blast and the towels were heated. The price was excellent, and the location in a trendy part of the CBD is full of tasty restaurants and interesting bars. Te Papa and the Beehive are just down the road, and there are a couple of lifts, so getting up to the room was easy. I booked without knowing what to expect, and Sojourn turned out to be a wonderful surprise.
