Accommodation Te Puna

For my work up the Minden, Accommodation Te Puna was in a really handy spot and suited my needs. The bed was comfortable, and there was plenty of hot water with good pressure in the shower. The interior is very run down, though, and being beside SH2 made it noisy. I'd say the price was probably fair.

I paid $200 after they wanted to charge $280 a night, and it still wasn't worth $50. I booked the best room I could for my family at Christmas, but they were put in a chalet that was dirty, with curtains falling down, bedside table legs coming off, and a dirty shower. I've never been so embarrassed. My poor family and young children had to stay somewhere I wouldn't put my dog. Shocking place, horrible stay, and I do not recommend it. This place should definitely have its Qualmark rating taken away.

We were shown to our room and given a bottle of milk at check-in, and the service was good. It was a nice standard room for a couple. There was parking outside the room, plus more spaces elsewhere, and a small swimming pool. Check out my videos. Wi-Fi was available, but there was only one wall socket for charging mobile devices, on one side of the bed.

The rooms were spacious, and we liked the spa bath and the little playground for the kids. But the price felt steep for what we got. The Wi-Fi never worked, there was no milk for our coffees, and the beds and pillows were very uncomfortable. I expected traffic noise by the main highway, but the loud music from the tavern across the road wasn't pleasant.
