The manager showed me around and explained everything, even turning on the TV and aircon for me. I felt welcome from check-in, and being escorted to my room made a lovely start to the stay. I had a studio spa room with a huge lounge and an incredible bedroom. The bed was beautiful and comfortable, with extra pillows available. There was a corner spa bath, a shower, and lovely toiletries in the bathroom, plus a little courtyard off the bedroom where I could sit quietly in the sunshine. It was one of the best stays I’ve ever had, and I can’t fault the room or service. Can’t wait to come back :)

I’m away for work a lot and stay here regularly. This is easily the best accommodation I’ve stayed at on all those trips. The rooms are spacious, clean and tidy, with everything you need. The welcome on arrival is great, and either Melcolm or Natalia (I believe) escorts you to your room. I can’t fault the people here and recommend it whenever I get the chance.

A last-minute booking, and the service was amazing. They showed me around my lovely room and gave me really helpful information. The spa bath was great, and I slept fantastically. I’ll definitely go back!

We come to Whakatane a lot and had struggled to find suitable accommodation, but now we’ve found our regular place: One88 on Commerce. The room had everything we needed, from the fan above the bed to the hot plate / induction cooker in the kitchen area. The amenities were amazing, especially the luxurious pillows and coffee choices. The front desk service was a standout, as was how clean the room was. Well done, we’ll be back soon!

The whole team made me feel at home for a few nights. Malcolm and the staff were friendly, funny and caring, and went above and beyond with every request. The rooms are modern, spacious, clean and tidy. I can highly recommend One88 if you’re choosing somewhere in Whakatane. Thanks to everyone!
