The room was spotless, affordable and more spacious than we expected. The showers were amazing, and being so close to our family made everything easier. We arrived quite late, but they were incredibly accommodating, especially with our current situation. Their kindness and hospitality meant a lot to us. Thank you all so much.

My family of six had a comfortable stay in the cute, tidy and clean three bedroom unit. It was spacious, and the location was handy and quiet. My kids wished the pool had been open, but we enjoyed our stay anyway and would come back.

The unit layout is very good, and there’s ample parking. But Unit 3 had no cups for hot drinks, and the motel supplied only a small sponge scourer instead of a proper dishcloth for wiping the sink benches, table or spills. The double sliding doors in the laundry didn’t work. Customer service at the Whangarei branch couldn’t be reached by phone, and they didn’t reply to my emails.

Our vehicle broke down and we needed somewhere in town for the night at short notice. We found Motel Villa del Rio online and booked a three bedroom unit for our family of eight. At $275 for one night, we were thrilled with what we got: a full kitchen, bathroom, dining room and lounge. The unit was clean, the beds were comfortable, and the kids had Netflix on the TV and WiFi. We’d definitely stay again. Thank you so much, and Merry Christmas.

We needed a comfortable place to stay overnight after finding out I wasn’t quite in labour, just in case it progressed. This was a nice option when we were in a pickle. The rooms were tidy, clean and nice, and the location was very handy.
