Anna was fantastic, really knowledgeable and helpful, and she makes a very good poached egg. The room was lovely and the location great. Absolutely stunning place to stay, and I can't recommend it highly enough.

Anne was the perfect host, with lots of useful advice about where to go and, just as usefully, what to skip. We had a fantastic two-night stay. The grounds were amazing and the place beautifully decorated. Merci mille fois, Anne!

The balcony was a lovely spot for a chilled glass of wine before we wandered down to the beach. We felt relaxed as soon as we arrived at this peaceful, comfortable boutique accommodation.

The cyclone hit while our group of four Canadians was there, and our planned tours were cancelled. Anne helped us figure out things to do and places to eat instead. She cooked delicious breakfasts each morning, and we were very comfortable unwinding by the fireplace. As a tour guide herself, she had plenty of information about places to see around New Zealand. Anne was an exceptional host, and we highly recommend staying at the Lonely Bay with her.

Anne was a great host, and nothing was too much trouble. Breakfast was superb, and the property is beautifully maintained in a lovely location. Shakespeare’s Point, Lonely Bay and the ferry to Whitianga are all within walking distance.
