Al Reem Desert Camp

Quiet and beautiful, with mountains and dunes nearby and lots of stars overhead. We saw plenty of wildlife too, and the food and service were great. A really fun place, and I’d recommend it to anyone visiting Oman.

There’s lots of room to spread out, with several places to sit, and it’s a good choice if you want a quieter spot with fewer tourists where you can relax or read. Families with children have a few playgrounds, and our room was comfortable. The desert ride was the highlight. Our local Omani guide drove really well and shared lots of interesting stories. The staff were friendly and helpful, and we enjoyed the dinner, campfire, and breakfast. My only small disappointment was the dates. There weren’t many, and this was the only place in Oman where we didn’t really eat any.

Loved the greenery among the desert, and it was a really cool place to unwind quietly under the stars. The prices were moderate, and you can reach it on a motorbike or in a saloon car. A great experience, do try it.

We really enjoyed the clear, starry sky and the lovely decorations around the campsite. The staff were humble and helpful, and the simple dinner and breakfast both tasted good. We’d happily recommend a stay here. A couple of little things could be better. The hot water wasn’t very hot, so we ended up having a cold shower, which was tough in the cool night weather. Also, the sheet on the window side of the bed had big stains.
