There’s a lot here for a family, and it could be an educational trip for any age. In the morning, you can learn about Oman’s historical hawk-training trade, and at night there’s sky and star observation with a well-trained astronomer. During the day, you can spend time around the camels and other Omani animals living in the area. There’s even a pool in the middle of nowhere, with a pool bar serving alcohol at night. Breakfast has traditional and western options. Many rooms are separate, small tent-like buildings designed to give you the Bedouin experience. They do that, and they have showers, toilets, and all the comforts. Some are smaller than others, so ask your guide or the resort directly about the room types. If the Bedouin-style rooms aren’t for you, there are two larger standalone buildings, each with two apartments. They’re really luxurious, at the edge of the complex, and give you the feeling of being in a 5-star hotel on the dunes. And the WiFi is super!

The food was a real highlight, with plenty of choices at the breakfast and dinner buffet and a small à-la-carte menu during the rest of the day. We also loved the activities, especially Dune Bashing and sunset camel riding. The sunsets are breathtaking here, and you can climb the dune right next to the hotel for a great view. We spent two wonderful days at the Arabian Nights Resort. It’s quiet and separated from the other camps, which makes it a lovely place to enjoy the desert. The drive in is a bit of an adventure but manageable. Remember to lower your tire pressure at Omanoil in Bidiyah. Rooms were very clean and easy to keep cool, and the staff were extremely friendly. We especially appreciated the attentive service at the pool. We felt very welcome and would love to return.

Those fire pits are a real treat, especially for watching constellations and shooting stars. The resort is beautiful, and the pool is a welcome way to cool off on a hot day. Getting here is an adventure. You’ll need a 4x4 or the pickup option, and once you arrive you’re met with luxurious hospitality. The rooms are enormous, with comfortable beds, excellent showers, and water available. Breakfast and dinner were delicious, with clear choices for vegetarians and pescatarians. A hidden gem in the Omani desert.

After a week of wild camping, this place was a welcome treat. The pool is a gem, the food was good and plentiful, the rooms are fantastic, and the nights are relaxing. It’s right in the middle of the desert. Still, building such a structure in untouched nature shouldn’t be allowed.

The silence and the stars in the dunes were incredible. Deepak and his team organized a private romantic dinner for us after we arrived in the afternoon and watched the sunset. They were so friendly and attentive, the food was excellent, and there was more than enough. We could choose how much food we wanted and how long to stay out in the dunes. The next day we rented quads. They weren’t cheap, but it was worth it, and they trusted us to drive on our own in the desert. Really fun. Thanks to Deepak and the team of Arabian Night Resort!
