We left before ordering breakfast because the welcome felt so cold. The staff acted distant from the moment my friends and I walked in, as if we were not wanted. When a friend ordered a single-shot Americano, a staff member immediately quoted the price, 2.5 OMR including tax, though nobody had asked. It left us feeling insulted, as if they assumed we couldn't afford it. I hope management takes this seriously and trains staff to treat everyone with respect and professionalism.

The view and the peaceful atmosphere were the best parts for me. The bathroom water pressure was very weak, though, and the food wasn't very good. It needed more cooking, and its quality felt low for the price.

The room had a great view, but the place felt very worn and only up to a basic three-star standard. For the value, it should cost about half as much. Dinner was also overpriced, especially when the nearby town in the valley had great food for a fraction of the cost. The bike and spa options seemed far too expensive to try. I'd rather pay a few dollars more for one of the luxury resorts in Jebel Akhdar, which offer much better value.

The buffet was pleasant, and the rooms were comfortable. The view is fantastic, but what really stood out was how genuinely friendly and welcoming the staff were. Drinks are pricey, with taxes added on top. Two still and two sparkling waters came to about €25.

We came mainly for the unusual location and the view, and the sunset really was amazing. I was a little anxious after reading some reviews, but our room was very clean and the bathroom caused us no problems. The beds were uncomfortable, and the old furniture, sheets, and towels could use replacing. Still, given where you are, it felt acceptable. Just manage your expectations: the price is premium, but this isn't luxury. Dinner was nice at 15 OMR per person, and the staff were very friendly. I don't regret staying, and my husband especially enjoyed the 4W drive up. One night is enough, though. There's little to do nearby, and in January it was quite cold, so I couldn't swim, even though some other guests did.
