Barceló Mussanah Resort Hotel

The resort had good food and excellent facilities, and we had a lovely stay. What we’ll remember most is Sumith, the lifeguard. He kept the pool area immaculate, helped guests settle in, and greeted people warmly. He was attentive to safety and professional while still keeping the pool atmosphere relaxed for all ages. His positive attitude and care made a real difference to our holiday. Sumith is a credit to the hotel, and we hope the team recognises how valuable he is.

The staff were very friendly and looked after us well, and we had a good seven-day holiday here with my wife. I’d give the hotel three solid stars. Calling it a four-star hotel feels like an overstatement to me. Our room was clean, the furniture and extras were all in good condition, and room service came every day. The resort is in a very remote spot. The nearest village is about a 45-minute walk away, though in Oman most people would probably drive. The grounds were clean and well kept, with a pleasant beach, umbrellas and loungers by the sea. It wasn’t crowded with hotel guests. There were guarded pools, a small water park for children, a beach bar, tennis court, and probably other things I didn’t notice. You can rent a car or get groceries on site.

There’s plenty for children here, and you can choose between the beach and several pools when you want to relax. The resort was clean and welcoming, and the buffet had a wide choice of high-quality food, so there was something for everyone. At Barceló Mussanah Resort, it was also easy to arrange trips and excursions from the coastline. With facilities for both activities and downtime, we had a great experience and would gladly recommend it.

We booked two garden view rooms, but at check-in Mr Abdur Rehman welcomed us and kindly upgraded us to an apartment. The resort works well for a family outing of a night or two, and day trips are available with or without lunch. The pools were great, especially the Splash water park. At the pool, Mr Sumith, the lifeguard, was courteous, shared some safety tips with the kids, and arranged a tube for them. The water sports, including jet skis, banana boat and kayaking, were enjoyable and reasonably priced. Check-out was smooth, and Mr Mehmood in the residences building was very helpful.
