Crowne Plaza Sohar by IHG Hotel

We enjoyed our stay, and the facilities were good. The restaurant team did a great job with the food quality, service, and hospitality. Mr Abbas and his team were friendly throughout, and Mr. Vaisakh was especially kind and professional. Since we were traveling with our baby, he personally made sure our needs were taken care of. I really appreciated how much effort he put into keeping guests happy.

I felt completely at home at Crowne Plaza Sohar, and the whole team made my four nights memorable. The rooms and facilities were excellent, and the logistical arrangements were handled very well. I left feeling like part of a family, and I'm looking forward to coming back. The dining was a highlight, with lots of tasty, high quality choices. Mr. Samer, Mr. Mohamed Hamdi, Milan, Abbas, Sophi, Myrna, Lyn, Akram and Ameer and the rest of the restaurant team were exemplary. Housekeeping also impressed me with its care, attention to detail, and friendly manner. At check-in, the front office staff welcomed me warmly and were always ready to help. Ms. Mona in management went out of her way to make sure I had what I needed and made me feel valued. I also want to thank Engineer Adel, the hotel's IT specialist. He responded quickly whenever I had an IT issue, was very helpful, and gave excellent support with a friendly attitude. That level of IT help stood out.

The only letdown for us was the pool water, which was very cold and didn't suit the weather. It seems like something that could be adjusted. We stayed with family, and the staff were helpful and friendly from arrival through checkout, assisting with directions and our requests. The interior and building are nicely decorated, bringing together Omani and European architecture. Breakfast was worth having too, with a good selection of international and Arabic dishes. Our room was clean and well maintained, with timely service. We'll visit again to experience CP/ IHG.

The staff really made our stay. Mr Kamal's hospitality was excellent, and his service convinced us to stay at crown plaza when we were considering another five star hotel in sohar. He's a very good person. The restaurant team also went far beyond what we expected. Mr Vaisakh arranged flour especially for me and worked hard to make our meals delicious. He and Mr Govind prepared vegetarian food to my preference, and Mr Govid even stayed after his night shift to make parantha for my breakfast. I don't have enough words to thank Mr Vaisakh for all the food he specially cooked for us. If I return to sohar, I'll choose this hotel again because of him and his team. Mr Saed and Mr Hamdi also deserve a mention for their calm and sincere approach. The staff are definitely one of the hotel's strongest points.
