A'Sinamar Hotel Apartment

The airport and Oman Convention & Exhibition Center are very close, so this is a handy place to stay, including for an airport exit. Reception is staffed around the clock, which made checking in at any hour easy. The facilities were clean, the stay was comfortable, and the friendly staff were accommodating. Worth it, and I’d recommend it.

The area around the hotel is all construction, but it’s a decent option for a short stay. There’s a restaurant and nothing else, no gym or pool. Parking is outside.

I couldn't sleep at night because of bedbugs and cockroaches. The hotel is in very bad condition.

The breakfast was a highlight. I had a full Arabic meal at the hotel restaurant for just 2.5 OMR (£5), and it was amazing. The staff were lovely, polite, and attentive. At breakfast they went out of their way to make me happy, offering coffee or Indian tea. They all speak very good English. I slept well in a clean, spacious room with an Arabic-style feel. There was a mini coffee station, fridge, and essential toiletries, even toothpaste and a toothbrush. WiFi worked well. The only irritating part was the built-in AC, which was noisy and wouldn’t turn off. The hotel has a 24-hour reception, which made things easy. I’d never been to Oman or Muscat and found choosing a hotel for my 15-hour layover difficult. This one was easy to get to from the airport, a 10-minute drive costing 5.5 OMR (around £10). I booked through the ototaxi app, and an ototaxi staff member outside the airport helped me find the car. Joining the airport WiFi was the only other hassle, as you need a local number to receive a text, but someone kindly sorted it out for me. The return trip to the airport was much cheaper, only 2 OMR. The area seems newly developed, with apartment blocks going up nearby, but the construction didn’t make noise. It doesn’t seem like somewhere to walk around yet. Some guests arrive by car, and there’s parking in front of the hotel. The restaurant prices are very affordable too. It was a really good short stay, and I’d recommend it to anyone needing a hotel near the airport for a layover.
