What bothered us most was how the staff dealt with everything. We’d prepaid through Hotel.com, but the hotel refused to honor the booking, saying the rate was too low. I understood their point and was even ready to pay extra, but then they kept calling our room three times to ask how many people were booked and how many were inside. One extra person had come by to visit and planned to stay elsewhere. Eventually they made us go to reception and said visitors had to leave by 9pm under hotel policy. That rule wasn’t posted anywhere, so how were we supposed to know? They demanded extra payment for the visitor or told us to “GET OUT.” We said he’d leave as soon as he could, and in the end they didn’t charge us. The room itself was grim: old, dimly lit, greasy floors, and what looked like cockroach droppings behind the drawers. Their supposedly “low” price didn’t seem especially cheap anyway, since there are even cheaper hotels in the area, probably with better amenities and service. We’re usually not fussy, and nearly 99% of my reviews get our applause. This one is rated so low because the service was absolutely terrible. We were treated like livestock. Stay away at all costs.

It’s an old hotel. Finding nearby parking is tough: the paid parking through the mobile app is on Wading Al Bahais Street, or you risk a USD 25 traffic ticket.
