Muscat Oasis Residences

We stayed in a two-bedroom flat with a spacious hall, kitchen and rooms, plus wifi. It was clean and neat, and you only need to pack clothes since everything else is there. There are facilities nearby and it’s close to panorama mall. The property has two swimming pools, though we didn’t feel much privacy with apartments all around them. There’s also a small park and a kids’ play area. Good value, but room assistance is available only until 5 pm. Keep in mind this is hotel apartments.

It costs less than other compounds in the city, but it’s noisy and has a bad smell, especially in summer. The place has clearly seen better days.

From outside it looks nice, but the inside was awful. We booked a two-bedroom apartment for three nights. The floor was very dusty and the bathroom didn’t seem properly cleaned, with brown marks on the bathtub. Only one of the bathrooms had hot water. The wifi kept loading and wouldn’t connect. Reception sent someone to help, but he said there was nothing he could do and that we should keep restarting the router. Such a letdown. Housekeeping needs to clean the apartments better because ours was dirty.

We met Basant, a friendly, respectful and genuinely nice guy, and looked at some apartments that were available. There’s lots of living space and plenty for kids to do, including pools, a play area, sports options and a gym. It’s one of the oldest residential areas in the heart of Muscat, and they seem dedicated to maintaining it despite its age. Sadly, it was beyond our budget, or we would have signed up right away.
