Ramee Dream Resort

I’d been coming here on business for 10 years because it used to be quiet and nice. This year I visited three times, and each night there were drunk local people fighting, talking loudly in the corridor, and knocking on other guests’ doors. My sleep was interrupted every night. Nobody seemed to care about the complaints, and the facilities are too old. It’s a shame, and a shame for the management. I’ve decided not to come back.

Our room smelled really bad, the resort felt old and had no lift, and they charged for everything, including water beyond the two small complimentary bottles. But the worst part was the night itself. We booked a family room and were given a connected room, with the connecting door locked. In the middle of the night, there were loud bangs at our door. Looking cautiously, we saw some local omanis with some girls fighting, swearing, and making a scene in the corridor. Another guest, who was there with his family, came out and threatened to call the police. Things quieted down for a while. We later realized those locals were in the room connected to ours. Girls yelling, people shouting, and loud noises continued for the rest of the night. We tried calling reception several times, but nothing happened. Only after we firmly said we’d take strict measures did they offer to move us, at around 4am. We had an island trip in the morning, so stayed and left at dawn, but didn’t sleep at all. That one night was a nightmare. I wouldn’t recommend this resort, especially for families or couples. It felt risky.

The breakfast was very basic, with few choices, and it was hard to find our room because the directions were unclear. The hotel was old and packed. It may once have been a nice resort, but it no longer meets that standard. Our stay was badly disrupted by a loud fight between guests late at night that lasted an hour, with shouting and sounds of objects being thrown. No staff stepped in, and reception neither acknowledged it nor apologized the next morning. The property had a distinct cultural environment, with Indian management and mostly Indian guests. Based on our experience, we can’t recommend it.

The staff were very attentive and polite, and the location is very good. The hotel does need renovation.
