Mazaya Salalah Hotel

The rooms are roomy and kept clean, and there are lots of food places nearby. The neighborhood gets a little noisy, though. No iron or hair dryer in the room.

The food was the best 🤤 and the cleaning was amazing, not a speck of dust. But the shower head doesn’t work, and the charger plug is under the bed, so how are you supposed to charge your phone? The private pool can only be booked by one room for one hour, so where are the other guests meant to go? That’s really bad. The women’s and men’s pools should be separate.

There are restaurants all around, so you won’t go hungry, and the location is perfect. I got stuck in the elevator twice, though. It’s dangerous.

At check-in, the person at reception who helped us was good, and the room was fine since we only planned to sleep there after our tour. But there was noise from around 8 a.m. onward. I’m not sure if it came from this building or the one across the road, but guests need enough rest, so I hope it gets fixed. There was also an incident with the receptionist, Mahmood. Our driver asked whether two Filipinos were staying at the hotel, and Mahmood immediately said no without checking the system. When we were checking out, he asked us for an extra 20 rials. We were shocked because nobody had mentioned an added charge at check-in. We showed him our online booking with the dates, price, and room number, and he just said, “I know.” In the end we didn’t pay, since he had the wrong room number. We nearly missed our flight over this. I hope the staff are more careful and know their work better.
