La Granja Campo Y Aventura

This doesn't work as a hostel for me. There's no shared kitchen, the water cuts out regularly, and the price doesn't feel worth it. The place gives the impression it used to be cared for, but isn't anymore. Camping or staying in a van means hearing semi-trucks engine braking all night, since it's right by the highway. Food was mediocre at best, and the kitchen only opens now and then. I'd look somewhere else, or spend as little time in Colon as possible. The whole area had some of the worst energy I've encountered anywhere. Plan with that in mind, or take better care of yourself.

We had a very good stay for a day or two, with fresh air and outdoor activities like canopy and kayaking. The water pump broke during our night there, so the lodge had no water. The staff took us across the camp to bathe, and I have to say the customer service was excellent.

The lake is beautiful, about a 20-30 minute walk away. The place itself is very basic, though the service is good and the people are friendly. The food was poor, and the room and shower weren't convenient. It's near the highway, so passing trucks make it very noisy at night.

I went on the agro tour with the kids, and they had a blast. The farm animals are really friendly and seem used to being around people. The place could use a little more maintenance, but we had a very enjoyable visit.
