There’s no front desk service or restaurant, though there are places to eat nearby and a pleasant communal kitchen. Internet is OK, there’s cable TV, and my phone got only 4 bars of 4g. The rooms are clean, simple, rustic, and even charming, but the locks are weak and there’s no safe. The balcony views are wonderful. The location is at the edge of town, so you’ll do a lot of walking. It’s halfway up a hill, and the building has many stairs, so it won’t suit people who struggle with stairs. The other guests were mostly friendly foreigners on short stays. There’s good access to nature walks if that’s your thing, but no pool or gym. The cost changes with season and availability.

The two women on staff were wonderful, keeping everything spotless and always being friendly and helpful. We stayed during the feria, and the location was perfect, close to restaurants, stores, and bakeries. The room was basic but very clean. The bed wasn’t the most comfortable, though the view was nice. Upstairs, there’s a huge terraza with the best views in Boquete, comfortable sofas, and a full kitchen. I’d highly recommend staying here.

Buena Vista was just what we needed: a quiet base for hiking, a little off the busy main street but still within walking distance of everything. We didn’t have much time in Boquete and wanted an inexpensive place, and this was fantastic value for money. Our room was large and had its own balcony, plus luxurious memory foam pillows. The top floor has a communal kitchen, balcony, and lounge, which worked great for quick breakfasts and sandwiches before hikes. The view from there was lovely, and it was never crowded, so it often felt like we had the place to ourselves. The host was super responsive and friendly. I’d highly recommend it to anyone with similar needs.

The room was spacious, with a double bed, bunk bed, little table, TV, and balcony. Its door was a little hard to open, but a bit of jiggling did the trick. My sister left her Kindle on the roof terrace, and the staff found it and kept it safe. They weren’t always at reception, so we sometimes struggled when we had questions, but whenever we did talk to them, they were super kind and helpful. The place is very clean and well designed, with hot showers that take 1-2 min to warm up. The kitchen has a coffee maker and plenty of equipment and tools, and laundry is available for an extra cost. It’s around a 5-10 min walk to the center and main road. We loved staying here. It felt somewhere between a hotel and hostel, with a shared kitchen and roof terrace to hang out and relax. The stairs are steep, there’s no lift, and it’s up a hill, so it may not work for people who struggle with stairs. That hillside location does give you an incredible rooftop view, and we could see it from our room too.

Everything worked perfectly, and the location was ideal, with a terrace overlooking the small town.
