Bocas Paradise Hotel

Milena gave us outstanding service. She was friendly, attentive, and so helpful throughout our stay, and made us feel welcome. The food was delicious, fresh, and well prepared. Bocas Paradise Hotel is right over the water in the center of Bocas Town, which made it easy to walk everywhere while still enjoying lovely ocean views. The shower pressure was the one small drawback. It was inconsistent and sometimes sprayed irregularly. Apart from that, we had a great stay and would recommend the hotel.

The service was as disappointing as the room. After we asked at reception during the night about changing rooms, nobody was available. In the morning my partner spoke with Luna at reception, who didn’t apologize. She told him to request a refund through Booking.com, and when he said we would, she replied, “whatever.” We stayed in room 302 at Bocas Paradise Hotel on 14-15 February and were relieved it was only one night. We paid £181 for a small room with two single beds. The tap, shower, and toilet gave inconsistent spurts of water that smelled strongly of sewage, making the bathroom extremely unpleasant. There’s a nightclub right next door playing very loud music until around 4:30am. The hotel clearly knows about the noise because it leaves earplugs in the room, but they were cheap plastic ones that made no difference. At this price, I’d expect proper soundproofing or at least earplugs that work. For £181 per night, both the accommodation and the service were very disappointing.

The food and wine were surprisingly good, and the location was great. Thanks to Bere, the chef, for taking such care with the excellent carbonara.

The room looked out at a wall, with another building about 1 m from the window. Really ugly. The photos only show rooms with a sea view, which looks fantastic, but that wasn’t what we got. There was noise until 02:00, and they leave earplugs on your bedside table. The room was unclean, with hair on the towels and carpet that hadn’t been vacuumed or shaken out. Honestly, I wouldn’t stay even if a room cost 50 dollars.
