Gran Hotel Bahia

The staff were so lovely that I'd give this 5 stars for them alone. Reception was open 24/7, and everyone, from the lobby to the cleaning ladies and bar staff, was friendly and helpful. We were told this is the oldest hotel in Bocas Town, and it does have charm. Everything's made of wood, so you can hear the neighbors talking. We got lucky that the people next door also went to bed early, and there was no party noise from outside. The room was clean, and the air conditioner could have been set to Antarctica, impressive. The shower wasn't always warm, and the wifi was slow and spotty. For 2 nights it was a nice stay, especially if you can find a good price.

My husband and I had a thoroughly enjoyable four night stay. The service and location were great, and the free breakfast down the street was even better.

We had a twin room with two double beds, and it was a good size. The building has lots of character and a lovely veranda on both the ground and first floors, a nice place to relax. It was very quiet and peaceful, and the staff were friendly and helpful. The shower had good pressure and plenty of hot water. Card payments were accepted, which was convenient. Wi-Fi was a little unreliable at times but generally worked fine. The location is excellent, just a short walk from the main town, with plenty of restaurants, street food, and bars. I'd happily stay again.

There's plenty of space, and the place is centrally located. The kitchen is basic, but with a little imagination you can make a decent meal. AC works great and the showers are good. Nothing fancy, but clean enough and very nice overall.
