The Bocas Beach House

Benson has put together a classic waterfront bungalow in Bocas Del Toro. It’s close to the town center and easy to get to the islands’ attractions. The host is helpful and well known locally.

We spent four days at Bocas Beach house and can’t wait to come back. It’s a private, quiet paradise with its own beautiful beach, plenty of rooms in an eclectic, fun house, and outdoor space for relaxing. We enjoyed everything the house offered and didn’t leave for two days. There’s an apartment upstairs, but we neither saw nor heard anyone during our stay. Benson, the owner, was very friendly and accommodating.

The open air layout at Bocas Beach House really brings the ocean and nature into the home. We were a family of six, two adults and four kids aged 11, 13, 14, and 15, visiting from the Pacific Northwest. We stayed three nights in mid August 2023 and had a fabulous time. It’s an older, quirky house, which is exactly why we loved it. It was clean and well maintained, and we preferred it to the sterile new hotels changing the character of the island. The location worked perfectly: close enough to walk to the action, but far enough away to avoid feeling overwhelmed. There’s a secure fence, and the neighbors are very nice. It feels like one of the few rentals with a community minded feel left. The host was responsive and knowledgeable, and I think he’d been in Bocas for about 30 years. We’ve traveled all over Central and South America, and this felt like a hidden gem. Thank you!

I had a lovely four night stay at Bocas Beach House. It’s within walking distance of everything in town, yet far enough away to escape the noise and crowds. Having both a private dock and a private beach makes this one of the few rentals with both. There’s plenty of room for a family or more. Dimitri, the caretaker, can arrange what you need and share activity information. 7/5 bananas, I’d stay again.
