Sansara Surf and Yoga Resort - Retreat

The design and service are exquisite, and the food is excellent. This is one of our favorite places anywhere. We first came ten years ago, and this was our third visit. Just perfect.

We loved the beautiful, comfortable rooms, delicious food, and wonderful staff. Everyone was kind, thoughtful, understanding, and accommodating. The location is amazing but very far from the city, about a seven-hour bus ride from Panama City. It’s an easy walk to the beach, and the resort has everything you need to disconnect from city life. The beds were super cozy and the bathrooms spacious. Add-ons such as massages and facials are a bit pricey, though that’s what you might expect at a wellness resort retreat. I’d highly recommend this place to friends.

We visited during rainy season and were pleasantly surprised by sunny weather and hardly anyone around. It felt like having our own private paradise. The drive from the airport is long, but once you arrive, you understand why it’s worth every mile. The resort is stunning, from the thoughtful interior design to the beautifully maintained grounds, and the food was a work of art. We could see the ocean just steps from the bed. Every employee at Sansara was friendly, welcoming, and attentive, and the warm smiles and calm energy in Cambutal wrapped around us from the moment we arrived. Ricardo and Leiah were patient, passionate, and kind surf instructors. The yoga shala felt sacred, with energy you could feel in your bones. A boat ride with Brian brought sea turtles, dolphins, whales, and a magical waterfall hike. A week of pure bliss, at what felt like a haven in heaven. If you’re considering it, just go!

Mike, the resort owner, was very friendly and helpful in arranging a beautiful room for my birthday. The place is serene and beautiful, with a lot of thought put into its aesthetic. Benny at the bar was spectacular and very thoughtful about making his drinks.
