New Washington Hotel

The room had a breathtaking view of all the ships waiting to enter the Panama Canal. The staff were very friendly, and there was a safe parking lot. Rooms are simple and clean, though the building looks like it needs renovation. A single room costs $45 and a double is $55. There's a hot shower and a refrigerator. There's also a swimming pool, which I didn't use.

OhHellNO! This place is dilapidated at best, and I have to wonder if it can really be called open. It's under construction, so maybe try again in a year. The “lounge” didn't have tonic or any carbonated water for a cocktail. The “view” is container ships in the canal. Check the TripAdvisor reviews.

What a waste of a structure. This building could become a really nice place, but I'm not sure why it's even open. It looks scary, and I doubt it's safe for any kind of event, let alone as a hotel with guests. The view is great, though!

The neighbourhood is pretty run down, so definitely drive in and out. Colon itself is dilapidated, which is a shame given all its history. The hotel is being renovated to bring it back to its former glory, and the ocean and ships waiting to enter the canal make for breathtaking views.
