The owner is very kind and knows a lot about natural medicine, though you do need to respect her rules. The place is quiet, clean, and well cared for, with good service and Wi-Fi. It’s also only about a ten-minute walk from the bus station. The cats and dogs are very friendly and kept out of the rooms, but my allergies still flared up. Also, the gates are usually locked for safety, so you have to ask or call the owner to let you out.

The lady was lovely and gave us tips on places to visit. We had our own clean room, and the cats and dogs were fine with us. I stayed three nights and really enjoyed this friendly hostel.

The Wi-Fi was good, and having air conditioning available was a bonus. It’s also one of the most affordable places in Panama. Josee is constantly cleaning, doing laundry, changing beds, or fixing things, but if you get a little time with her, she knows a lot about Chinese medicine. The hostel has plenty of character and sits in a quiet spot in David, just a few minutes’ walk from both the bus station and the city center.

I met some amazing people here, and the hostel itself turned out to be a gem. Before arriving, I had some doubts from reading the reviews, but the experience was a pleasant surprise. It’s near the bus terminal and most of the main places in David, though it’s in a local residential neighborhood rather than right in the center. I liked that as a way to experience the culture. If that kind of setting isn’t for you, hostels may not be your thing. There are cats and dogs. The owner can be cranky sometimes, but she means well and is mainly trying to keep guests safe. I highly recommend it!

The host was lovely, and the bed was really comfy. It’s a short walk to the town center. There are lots of cats and dogs, so you definitely need to be an animal lover to stay here. The shower was cold, though they do provide a towel and a bar of soap.
