Los Aramos

I felt itchy all night and couldn't get out of there fast enough. The room was just a shade above disgusting: the floor was filthy, cobwebs hung in the corners, the window sills and back walls were very dirty, and there seemed to be blood droplets on the floor near the bed. The whole room smelled strongly of mothballs. That was a real letdown because the grounds are gorgeous. The landscaping, setting and location are impressive, and the property has so much potential. I can't understand how such a beautiful place could have rooms this neglected. Proper cleaning, basic updates and maintenance would make a big difference. Even a two- or three-star hotel can take pride in clean, welcoming rooms. The location is excellent, just off the main road, with sidewalks to restaurants and open markets. The layout looks suited to an all-inclusive experience, with room for a café, restaurant, bar and lovely communal areas. I could picture having coffee and a pastry on the patio, listening to the water features in the peaceful surroundings. Sadly, that's not what the stay was like. El Valle is an absolute gem, and the landscaping already shows care for the property's appearance. I wish the same care went into the rooms. With good cleaning and a few updates, this place could be amazing, but I couldn't wait to leave.
