Punta Duarte Garden Inn

The road in was easier than we expected. After turning off the Interamericana from Santiago, most of it was paved, and the last 12 minutes were on an unpaved stretch with only a few potholes. An SUV felt comfortable, but a 4x4 wasn't needed. Once there, we had a spacious, well-kept room, a lovely pool and a private beach to ourselves. The hostess was so welcoming and helped us set up a boat trip to Cebaco Island, with a generously stocked lunch box. We saw whales, dolphins and turtles, though the spot wasn't as suitable for snorkeling. Dinner was excellent, affordable, and had 4-5 options. It felt like a real escape from the world and the tourism, and a better choice than Santa Catalina. I'd recommend it to anyone.

We spent our time walking along the beach and taking late afternoon dips in the pool, which is genuinely good for swimming laps. The room was lovely, with an awe-inspiring ocean view, and our hostess was so sweet. We'd definitely come back.

Gaby and her staff were courteous and quick whenever we needed anything, and the food was delicious. The rooms were air-conditioned, with comfortable beds, and everything was always immaculate. There’s a pool too, if you want one, plus easy access to a private beach. We came for a quiet, relaxing stay and got just that, total peace and tranquility. The drive from Santiago was straightforward, and we had no trouble in a regular car even on the final unpaved stretch. The route from Santiago was even better than the Interamericana. Getting there brought us to the peace and nature we were hoping for, and that last part of the journey adds to the charm of the secluded, relaxed setting. A real little escape from everyday life, and the drive is no obstacle.
