Gaigirgordub is a handy base for visiting the other islands, with its own beach. The pollution from the more populated islands doesn't reach this area. It's a quiet place to enjoy the scenery and get away from city noise, so keep in mind that facilities are limited. There are two simple buildings, with rooms for one to four people and a private bathroom and toilet. Meals can be requested. The hotel works for a day visit or a longer stay, for business or leisure, and has various packages at different prices, including land, air, and sea transport. Water for bathing comes from an on-site well and is treated with chlorine. I'd bring bottled water to drink. Power comes from a generator and solar system. Each room has one light, switched on after 6:00 p.m. If you have devices to charge, bring a solar panel or portable power source if possible. Management only permits charging in the common living area after 6:00 p.m. There's a TV in the dining and living area, available until 9:00 PM because electricity is limited.

Very friendly staff, local crafts, a hammock, and a seafood lunch. The tiny island has just a few basic rooms with little comfort. You can also visit a nearby local community. Highly recommended.

The service and facilities were what I liked most. One of my favorite spots to visit in San Blas.

Of the places I've seen in the San Blas Islands, this one is the most comfortable and best laid out.
