Hotel Bahia Suites

The cafeteria has good Panamanian and international food, with a lovely view of the Bay, and evenings by the pool are a nice extra. The staff are very friendly and helpful. Bahia Suites is good by Panamanian standards, with a great location close to the Metro, buses, taxis, and Balboa Avenue, across from the Bay of Panama. Prices are comfortable, since no place is perfect.

The location worked well, with food vendors, fruit stands, and shops within walking distance. There were also plenty of bars and lounges about a 10-minute walk away, if you don't mind the exercise. Inside, though, the photos seem to be from when the hotel first opened, and the renovations looked unfinished. The TV and A/C controls didn't work, leaving the A/C stuck at 17 in our small room, so they brought an extra blanket. We always pack our own toiletries, which was fortunate because there was only a tiny piece of soap, barely enough for one baby bath. Someone was hammering or fixing something at 7 a.m. There were no washcloths, and when I asked for another towel, I was told there should be two in the room, one per person. Lol.

A good local place to stay in Panama City, with a great location. An Uber or cab to the financial district or old town costs about $3.

The rooftop view is wonderful, but this hotel really needs improvement. My shower head didn't work properly, and getting my room door open was a hassle when I first arrived. Breakfast was okay, but needs more choices, and the elevators are really slow. The bed was the only thing that got done properly. Every room needs a garbage can. They kicked us out of the hotel restaurant for bringing outside food. FIND SOMEWHERE ELSE TO STAY. PERIODDDDDDDDDDD
