Hotel Acapulco

It’s a small, standard room with air conditioning and hot water, but the location isn’t great and there’s not much to do nearby. The hotel next door costs about the same and at least has a pool. There’s no laundry service here, though a laundromat is two doors down.

The photos online don’t show the hotel’s current state. My room felt old and poorly maintained, with visible mold in both the bathroom and sleeping area. It was extremely noisy too, with constant street sounds and a loud generator outside the window running 24/7. This was by far the worst accommodation of my time in Panama, and I booked it at the last minute. The staff were unfriendly and spoke only Spanish, which international travelers should know. At 1am someone called my room phone without explaining why. It woke me and felt uncomfortable and strange. Even basic requests like hot water weren’t complimentary. As a solo female traveler, I also didn’t feel safe in the area. Very disappointing and not worth the price.

A cockroach in the room, a smelly bathroom, and a dirty duvet. The room didn’t look anything like the pictures. I spent 1.5 hours there trying to find somewhere else at the last minute, then left and lost 40 dollars. I asked the hotel to refund half of what I paid for that time, but they refused to return anything.

I was only there overnight, so I can’t say much about the other services. The room and bed were clean, and there’s good food next door. Check-in and check-out both went smoothly. I’d stay here again.
