Hotel Dos Mares

After asking to speak with a manager, the receptionist called someone and said my refund had been processed. She showed me a receipt saying the payment was cancelled. But when the money didn’t show up, I checked with my bank and learned the refund had gone to a completely different card from the one I paid with, most likely not mine. The receptionist had first told me a card refund wasn’t possible, and she was extremely rude and unprofessional throughout. I booked through Booking.com and asked for another room or to cancel as soon as I saw the first one. It was filthy, the shower head was broken, the bathroom had mold, and the toilet was in shocking condition. The other two rooms they showed me were just as bad, so I asked for my prepaid stay to be refunded. Dirty rooms, unprofessional service, and what appears to be refund fraud. I strongly advise against booking here. The photos show the rest.

The repairs they’ve completed made the place look great, but the linens still need to be thrown out and replaced. Construction was underway, so the elevator wasn’t working. At reception, we were charged a second time because they didn’t know the password for their Hotels.com account.

The online photos are very misleading. The bathroom was extremely dirty, the air conditioning was poor, and the sheets hadn’t been changed after the previous guest. Even the elevator was wet. There was loud music too. I don’t recommend this place.

The waitress had an attitude, and there are better places for breakfast. The restaurant coffee was cold, and the corn cakes were raw and soaked in oil.
