The breakfast was generous, and I liked the food from the kitchen. The rooms are big, the beds are among the nicest I’ve slept in, and the showers are excellent. It’s also handy for business. I’ll definitely come back. For a hotel this size, it’s getting close to five stars, but it could do more for privacy, personal care, exclusivity, and extra touches. Even if it costs more than nearby hotels, I think it’s worth it.

Noise in our room kept us from sleeping for two nights, and we left more exhausted than when we arrived. I also came away with the impression that Booking guests mattered less to the reception staff. Their attitude made it seem as though our experience didn’t count. Before our visit I messaged through Booking to ask about an early check-in, but nobody replied. I arrived at 2 p.m. and Javier José said check-in started at 3, though he’d see if an exception was possible. Then he took a personal call. When I asked again politely half an hour later, he said “at three” without looking up. At 3 the room still wasn’t ready. Although we’d prepaid, I had to fill out all the registration paperwork again, and only got the key around 3:10. The room was dirty, with greasy furniture and brown marks on the sofa and door frame, and looked neglected. It didn’t meet what I’d expect of a five-star property. As a manager at a luxury hotel myself, I was shocked by how unprofessional the staff were. There was no apology, offer of a refreshment, goodwill gesture, empathy, or interest. At checkout the same two receptionists stood there silently. No thank you, no asking how the stay was, not even basic courtesy. On the 29th, we told the restaurant staff that the breakfast ham was spoiled. They apologized right away and took responsibility, which was ironically the only professional response we got during the stay. The hotel may have five stars on paper, but its service, attitude, and cleanliness fell far short. There was no compensation, apology, care, or accountability. I absolutely wouldn’t recommend it. As we say in my country, “a fish rots from the head down.” When management doesn’t respond to guests’ concerns or take responsibility, it says everything about the culture there.

The upper-floor views were great, and breakfast was tasty with a good range of options. Our room was clean and very nice, with good AC. The staff helped us with all our luggage and were very helpful. I’d happily stay again.

Geraldine and I have traveled to hundreds of destinations and more than 30 countries, and this was the best service we could ask for. The staff were incredibly professional and coordinated well as a team. Everyone made us feel welcome and helped make the stay enjoyable. They’ve spoiled us in their own way, and it’ll be hard to stay at other hotels after this. A big thank you to every staff member.
