I booked a private room over a month ahead, but when I arrived at 8pm, they said they’d given it away the day before and had no private room left. I’d just been scammed by an airport taxi driver, and this made an already bad evening worse. Nobody helped me find somewhere else to stay. They seemed not to care, were rude, and argued among themselves while I stood there alone, as if it were my fault. I never got to stay here. The employees were rude, and it looked like they were raising a family in the hostel. Unlike any other hostel I’ve stayed in, it felt more like someone’s personal house. I would never come back.

It can feel a bit far from the center if you’re staying for many days, but I like this hostel for a first or last night in Panama since it’s close to the airport. Uber is cheap, the metro station is a five-minute walk away, and there’s a nice mall about five minutes away too. For $15/night, breakfast, great wifi, and air conditioning are included.
