Selina Pedasi

I stayed at Selina Pedasi for three nights. The first night was excellent, and the hostel was very quiet. On the second night, two guys brought in two girls from outside and made a mess all night right in front of the private rooms. I won’t go into the details, but it was a complete mess until 8 in the morning. Management did nothing, and there’s no staff at the hostel at night. We also had things stolen from the communal fridge. Far from acceptable!

If comfort matters to you, this modern hostel could be a good fit. Pedasi is a lovely town worth visiting, but I’m giving five stars because the hostel staff are great people. Staff, please remember to turn off the A/C tourists leave running when they head out.

I only had a short stay, but there was time for a really good coffee and to feel welcome. The place was clean and had a warm feel, and the staff greeted me right away. I’d love to come back for longer.

The pool and all the cozy places to sit won me over, especially the VW bus right by the entrance. There are lounge chairs, hanging chairs, and plenty of other spots to settle in, so it feels like home. They also run daily activities such as yoga and movie nights, and the WiFi was the best I found in Panama. The bakery goes above and beyond, and the coffee is amazing. I used to be scared of hostels because Eli Roth’s movie Hostel made me think I’d be kidnapped and murdered. I’m not letting a movie or someone else’s opinion stop me from trying new things again. This hostel changed how I feel about travel. After one walk around, I was already saying, “I want to move here.” Much love and thanks to Selina.
