Getting to the room was the hard part, with the hill and then stairs to climb. Inside, the beds were comfortable, though the room had little ventilation and you could hear noise through the walls. The bathroom was small but clean, and the water stayed hot with good pressure both times I showered. They even supplied shampoo, which is unusual for a two-star place. Breakfast had decent options, and the staff were nice.

The location worked really well, right beside Inkani coffee, which is an excellent cafe. Nights were loud, though that seems to be Aguas Calientes in general, and the Wi-Fi worked fine. We’d set our expectations low because the hotel was fairly cheap, but the beds were comfortable and the showers had hot water and good pressure. After four days of hiking, maybe any hotel would have felt like paradise.

The street-facing room was so noisy that I had to play music loudly all night, and the Wi-Fi kept cutting out. The bed was super comfortable, the shower was hot, and breakfast was good, with snacks we could take away. They also offered luggage storage.

The room faced the street, so I could hear the neighboring restaurants and construction. I kept the curtains shut because people could also see inside. I expected little from a two-star hotel, but at least wanted a clean bed and a hot shower. The water was freezing, and the shower head was broken. When I asked the front desk for help, the staff member kept browsing the web and did nothing. Horrible hotel.

The internet didn’t work at all during our stay, and my phone had no signal, so I had to go outside to get reception. None of the staff or the receptionist spoke English. The older woman at reception was rude. When I asked about towels and whether my luggage had arrived from Ollantaytambo, she spoke Spanish. I tried to follow along and answer in my basic, broken Spanish, but she laughed and looked at two other staff members, who laughed too. I only understood that she said, “He cannot understand... where is his head”. Being laughed at as a paying guest was not cool. Save your money and stay somewhere else. The rooms and bathrooms were tiny, nothing like the pictures, which looked as though they’d used a fish-eye lens. The beds were set up vertically, with mine facing a streetlight. My friend had to squeeze past my head to reach the bathroom near my feet, hard to explain, LOL. The place was horrible.
