Even after letting the shower run for ten minutes, the water was only lukewarm. It was okay for a quick rinse, but not enough to wash my hair. The hotel seems not to care, since tour groups keep bringing them business. If you can, stay somewhere else.

The room had no heater and was as dark as a cave. The entrance door has to stay open because of its locking system, so cold air blows into the lobby. Although the hotel is near the train station, it's quite far from the main town area. There was no hot shower at first. After I called reception, they sent a handyman, who ran the shower for five minutes and said, 'nah hot water'. It only became fairly warm. The only water for sale was refrigerated mineral water, at PEN10 for 2.5L or PEN5 for 1L.

The train station is right across from the hotel, so it's noisy. On the plus side, the staff were very friendly and helpful, the breakfast was good, and they made eggs how you like them. They have portable heaters and there was hot water, which was great.

The rooms were clean, the staff very friendly, and breakfast basic but enough. The hotel is right beside the station, which is handy, though the old diesel trains coming and going from Aguas Calientes make plenty of noise. The last one arrives at 22:45, and after that we slept well.

We were there for one night on a group tour. It's a family run three-star place, an easy, mostly flat walk from the station, market, and bus stops. Everything was clean and neat, but breakfast was rather meagre. The bathroom was small, with a waterfall shower. Hot water took a while to come through the pipes, then got VERY hot. There's no heating or spare blanket, though the bed covers were enough to make a warm cocoon. The windows look into the hallway, with no obscure glass, and outside, with no double glazing. I slept very well on the firm bed, listening to the roaring river so close by. I could see and hear the trains from my window. Just outside to the left, steps and platforms overlook a waterfall, the station, and the train lines and shunting area.
