The views from Rupa Rupa B&B are spectacular, but that was about the only good part of our stay. Getting there means climbing a very steep flight of stairs, and I was winded every time. I dreaded going out because I knew I’d have to climb them again. It would be a serious challenge with mobility issues or luggage. The room was dirty for the price. There was dust in the corners, questionable marks on the bedding, and the bathroom hadn’t been cleaned properly. Noise was even worse. Sound insulation was practically nonexistent, and we heard conversations, footsteps, and movement from the hallway and neighboring rooms all night. Light sleepers should be wary. I barely got any rest. The beautiful view is why I gave it two stars instead of one, but it didn’t make up for the stairs, poor cleanliness, and sleepless nights. I can’t recommend staying here unless these problems are fixed.

The rooms were clean and the bed was comfortable, and the location is close to everything once you’ve made it up or down the stairs. It’s a quiet spot with beautiful views, so the climb of over 100 steps can feel worthwhile. Still, getting to Rupa Rupa was a bad experience. Their website says a porter will meet you at the train station, but no one did. When we asked at the desk, the man said they don’t offer that service. We also had a room for four people, though there were only two of us, and they charged us for extra towels instead of providing four. There were no screens on the doors or windows, so mosquitos were a problem. Breakfast was very light with few options, and we went somewhere nearby instead. The website overpromises on the service and accommodations.

We had a lovely time sleeping with a fantastic view of the three big mountains from our room. The rooftop breakfast area also has great scenery, and the bus stop for Machu Pichu is very close. The beds were comfortable, and breakfast was simple but enough, with vegan options too. Enjoy!

We spent one night at this cool B&B, with amazing mountain views and a nice breakfast. The room was reasonably clean. The uphill walk could be tough for some people, though that’s true of the area in general.

We got a free upgrade to a room with wide, 90-degree windows. It was quiet despite being close to the main square, and we spotted a gallito de las rocas and a mot mot from our window. Since we had to check out super early, they made a picnic breakfast available.
