The included breakfast was laughable: an empty pot of scrambled eggs, a plain bread roll with nothing to put on it, and two kinds of cereal with no milk. There was one towel for two of us, and when I asked reception for another, the woman on duty was shockingly rude. She didn't speak English and, through a translator, flat-out refused. I had to dry myself with a hand towel. The men's toilets downstairs by reception were just as bad: the toilet leaked water across the floor and out the door, and there was no toilet paper. The room was a tiny shoebox, with a bathroom door that opened straight into the shower. The bathroom was matchbox-sized, unventilated, stank of mildew, and had black mold all over the ceiling, which someone had clearly tried and failed to paint over. The mirror fogged instantly and the whole space felt unhygienic. The bed linen was dirty, the walls were paper thin, and the noise was unbelievable. Our room was by the stairwell, so people walking, talking, and slamming doors kept us up all night, along with trains roaring past until the early hours. Whenever someone walked by or a bug flew past, the motion sensor lights outside came on and lit the room right through the curtains, which weren't blockout. We got zero sleep. We stayed here as part of a G Adventures tour, and it was hands down the worst accommodation of the trip. This place shouldn't even be rated as a hotel. You'd genuinely be better off sleeping in a tent. One star, and that's being generous.

I could hear a family talking loudly with a small child screaming during my single night there. The room was filthy, with mold on the ceiling, a stained top sheet, something stuck to the bathroom tile, and long hairs on the floor. Gross. As part of a G Adventure tour, I stayed at Machu Picchu and this place was right next to the train station, so diesel engines ran from 10:30pm to 5am. Avoid.

The train tracks right outside made it quite noisy, and the breakfast was very basic and not great. The bigger issue was the green-blue stains on my room's sheets and duvet, which looked like mold. I asked the staff to change them, but they said it wasn't possible because the cleaning staff had left. Eventually I did get a couple of clean sheets, but it wasn't a good experience. I wouldn't stay here again or recommend it.

The bedding and curtains had visible stains, and the complimentary breakfast was disappointing: just a small counter with empty bowls that nobody tried to refill. The room itself felt damp and uncomfortable, with a strong musty mildew smell. It was so bad we wore masks just to sleep. The bathroom had no windows or ventilation and was stifling hot, so the humidity never cleared. It seemed like they'd tried to hide mold with a fresh coat of paint instead of fixing it. I wouldn't recommend staying here. We would have been better off in a tent. Definitely choose somewhere else.

There's a great mountain view, but sleeping was impossible. The trains were loud all night, exhaust came into my room and the air was really bad, and it was very bright. Also, the window above my door had no glass, so there was no barrier to the hallway. It is close to the train station. The rooms were clean, which was good, but I wouldn't recommend it.
