Hotel Tikary

The location was great, and the rooms, cleanliness, and breakfast were all good. Staff were friendly too. But we stayed six nights and they said we'd paid for only five, then tried to charge us for another night. I nearly missed my flight sorting it out. Thankfully, I had paid by credit card and could show proof of payment. We also usually had no hot water in the shower/jacuzzi. Each time, we had to ask the staff to turn it on, then wait for it to heat up.

The downtown Arequipa location was good, and when I mentioned that our floor hadn't been vacuumed, the staff responded and cleaned it while we were out. There was also a half-finished drink left in the fridge, which was disappointing. The hotel's decor feels mismatched and could use a professional eye. Breakfast was average or below average compared with other Peruvian hotels. At this price, I'd expect something nicer in the US, so it felt below par for Peru.

Breakfast and cleanliness were excellent, thank you 👍 They could pay a bit more attention to the details, though. It felt like one staff member wasn't always on the same page as the next.

It was cold at night, and I didn't get enough information about places to eat. The workers were always in our way and should give guests some space. The noise was bad, and they kept waking me early for breakfast. They also charged extra for one dirty towel. I was uncomfortable and wouldn't stay here again.
