Los Andes Bed & Breakfast

The central location was something we really liked, and the staff were friendly and attentive. We had a twin room with a private bathroom, and both the room and common areas were spacious, clean, and comfortable. The hot showers were good. Breakfast was basic, but worked very well for us.

We arrived very early and our room was already ready, so we could check in ahead of time. The hostel is in the city center, with big, comfortable rooms and decent beds and pillows. There’s a very large communal area, and the staff were very helpful. I recommend it.

It’s less than 100 meters from the main plaza, and about a 10-minute walk to the Mercado and Catalina Cathedral. The terrace is large and gives you a view of Arequipa’s volcanoes. Inside, it’s always clean, towels are changed every day, and there’s a big kitchen for cooking. For the buffet breakfast, tidiness, service, and public areas, it feels more like a boutique hotel than a hostel. Best hostel I’ve stayed in.

Good for the price and location. The free breakfast is simple but good, and the WiFi works well. The temperature can swing quite a bit since there’s no AC or heating anywhere, so it gets too cold at night and too hot during the day. That’s normal for the city, though.
