Omar, I think that was his name, was amazing at the front desk in the afternoons and evenings. He helped me with my Spanish very politely and gave us useful recommendations. Vanessa was helpful with breakfast too. The staff were all great, and we appreciated the local teas in the room. Ours was clean and had what you'd expect. It's a fairly quiet neighborhood, but the hotel is just off a busy street with honking and loud buses passing nearly around the clock. There aren't many good shops or restaurants close by unless you're willing to walk uphill for 10 minutes or more. The historic Plaza de Aramas, with its beautiful cathedral and tourist amenities, is about a 12-15 minute walk away.

We felt at home at Runcu Hostal. The employees went out of their way to help us with whatever we needed, and even provided lunch boxes for our trips and the return journey. They let us check in at 5:30 a.m. when we arrived, and stored our luggage while we traveled to Colca Canyon. The room and towels were very clean, the bed was comfortable, and there was a kettle and tea in the room. The hostal is in a safe, nice area of Arequipa, about 10 minutes from the Plaza de Armas. We had a great time and are very thankful to Runcu Hostal for everything!

A distinctive traditional hotel near the historic centre, with a wonderful crew and a hearty breakfast. The main square is literally a five-minute walk away.

Hotel Runcu has a warm feel and some local character in the decor. I found the staff friendly and helpful, always greeting me with a genuine smile. The rooftop terrace is a lovely place to relax and take in the views. My room was comfortable and clean, with a beautiful view and hot water throughout my stay. It's a cozy, convenient base in Arequipa, and I had a pleasant experience. Highly recommended!

The staff were kind and obliging, and I had a great stay at the hotel. Its location is really close to the square. The services, including breakfast and tour departures, were good overall.
