Yamil was lovely and had useful tips for the hike. He was ready to help with anything we needed. We stayed with him for one night before trekking the Cola canyon and would happily do it again. If you’d rather avoid the typical tourist hostels and are up for something more rustic, this is the place.

The room had a few holes in the roof and was a bit broken, but it held up fine even in a storm. The staff were super nice and always tried to help. The stay was super cheap, and the restaurant served really good food for very little. A great experience, really recommend it.

Yamil gave us a warm welcome and offered excellent advice before our canyon trek. This is one of the oldest inns in Cabanaconde, and I’d highly recommend it if you’re after a warm setting away from over-tourism.

Talking with Yamil was fascinating. He shared stories about Cabanaconde’s history and traditions, as well as what’s happening in town now. During my short time there, I met lots of cheerful women from all over the world. I don’t know why, but perhaps it had something to do with his famous Pisco Sour and the stories he tells. A truly legendary experience!

Yamil is excellent at giving information, and the location is very convenient. It’s a welcoming hostel with hot water, Wi-Fi, and a garden, and some rooms look out over the mountains. Best hostel in Cabanaconde for the price.
