The room was comfortable and in good shape, and hot showers were available around the clock. The owner and her husband made us feel at home from the minute we arrived, even offering hot drinks and chicha (a fermented corn beverage) during our stay. We had a wonderful time at Hostal Monumental, especially after the carnival festivities when it was nice to relax. I’d happily stay again for the next Cajamarca carnival. Great hospitality, service, and fair prices.

They really made the festivities more enjoyable, with helpful carnival face-painting tips and cleaning kits for getting the paint off. The staff also recommended and connected us with reliable services like laundromats and tours. We felt right at home, and the hot drinks and homemade chicha at reception were amazing. The location is great too, just one block from the main square. I visited during Carnival and the service felt very personal. 🥳

We tried several of the hotel’s options, and every one was outstanding. The staff were friendly and efficient, and the relaxed atmosphere worked well for a stay with my partner or friends. It made for a very pleasant visit. Easily one of the city’s best places to stay.

The tour guide was excellent, and the staff were friendly. Add spacious rooms and a great location, and it’s one of the best hotels I’ve stayed at. I’d highly recommend it.
