The staff were attentive and wonderful, the views breathtaking, and the food delicious. Their “Trucha Mediterranean” was one of my favorite dishes in Peru. After the 5 day Salkantay Trek, this was just the relaxing break we wanted. We also booked a 90 minute massage, a picnic with drawing and painting supplies, and time in the jacuzzi, then walked near the nearby waterfall. It was peaceful, romantic, and relaxing. “Coca” gets bonus points for visiting us and making us smile while we missed our fur babies at home. ☺️

The visible waterfall coming down the mountain made such a calming sound, and the views all around were breathtaking. Unuwasi has modern hotel comforts, including wifi, comfy beds, satellite TV, and hot flowing water, plus plenty to explore in the common area. The host was kind and accommodating, made us breakfast, and arranged transportation for our sightseeing that day. It's a charming place in the Sacred Valley, away from the hustle and bustle. I'd definitely come back. Thanks for a wonderful stay!

The grounds were neat, tidy, and clearly well maintained, and the bungalows are beautifully placed among the Sacred Valley mountains, with an easy walk to the waterfall. The stay itself was pleasant, but the checkout left a very poor impression and made us feel they were trying to rip us off. The bungalows are isolated, so we needed a bus or taxi to get lunch and dinner. Our clean rooms were on the small side, and with two people's suitcases on the floor, they kept becoming trip hazards. We had been quoted $80 US per unit per night. At checkout they said it was $80 US per person. We showed the email confirming $80 US per night and, after some discussion, paid that amount. Then they added a $30 US charge for a small face towel they said had been stained by makeup. I asked to see it. Once they finally brought it over, I cleaned it to their satisfaction with soap in about three minutes. They also said a bath towel was damaged, but couldn't produce it. If you stay here, beware.

We couldn't have been happier with this quiet little property. The cottages are beautiful, the host is very attentive, and the waterfall is an incredible walk away. They make great meals in the small dining room or bring them right to your cottage. You can buy firewood for the outdoor fire pit and sit with wine under the stars.

Erika and her sister Julie made my four weeks at Unu Wasi Hotel & Bungalows feel like being part of the family. Every morning I looked forward to their smiles and the healthy, delicious breakfast they prepared with fresh local fruits, grains, eggs, and breads. They have a full menu for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, all freshly made, and Erika is always attentive to the details, with a designer's eye. I also saw her coordinate a destination wedding with ease. The setting outside Calca, tucked among mountain peaks and overlooking a valley, was beautiful. It made a perfect home base for day trips to Pisac and Cusco, or via Urubamba to Ollantaytambo and Machu Picchu. The location and Erika's care made this “magical journey” to Peru exceed all my expectations. I'll keep recommending the hotel and hope to return, ideally with less reliance on Google Translate now that I've learned more Spanish!
