The quiet, tucked-away setting made it easy to relax and recharge. We were looked after from the minute we arrived until we left, and the food was delicious, with different flavors to enjoy each day. The team at Punta del Norte Bungalows were professional, attentive, and did far more than we expected. Thanks to everyone at Punta del Norte for making our stay so pleasant and memorable.

We spent the end of our honeymoon at Punta del Norte Bungalows, and it was such a peaceful, relaxing way to celebrate. The staff made it especially memorable. Everyone was kind, attentive, and easy to talk to, and Sr Percy, Percy, Carlos, Jefferson, Darwin, and Sergio really stood out. Jefferson took us kayaking, which was free for guests, and the team arranged a private dinner on our patio for our last night. We’d happily recommend staying here.

After paying 800 soles, the fishing trip was nothing like what had been described. They showed me pictures of huge fish and said fish were guaranteed, though I’ve fished all my life and know that can’t truly be guaranteed. I’d told the man I’d already been scammed on a fishing tour two days earlier, so I gave them the benefit of the doubt. The advertised tour was three hours, but we only trolled for 45 minutes in a tiny 15 foot boat. Then they handed me a piece of wood with line tied to it, and we fished for bottom feeders like the locals. That was nice enough, but not what we paid for. In the remaining two hours we caught one small fish, about 12 inches long. Back at the hotel, everyone seemed to vanish. Before I paid, they’d been welcoming and cheerful, but afterward their attitude changed and they avoided contact.

The quiet location was a big part of why our week worked so well. Punta del Norte Bungalows is away from the main stretch, and with only 10 bungalows it often felt like we had the place to ourselves. Coming from Lima, we really needed time to slow down, and this was a peaceful spot for quality time together. We’d stay again and recommend it to others. Thanks for a much-needed week away. We were a family of four on a six-night getaway in late January. From the first contact, Andrea answered our questions and arranged a taxi from Talara airport. We arrived ahead of schedule, and Diego and the team had our room ready after a few minutes, so the kids could get to the beach early. The welcome drinks for both adults and children were a lovely surprise. We stayed in one of the three bungalows nearest the sea. The beds were comfortable, there was plenty of room, and the patio was great for reading and playing games with the kids. We used the hammock a lot. The grounds had brick paths, attractive lighting, and lots of greenery. There were several loungers by the beach, and we usually had the area to ourselves. The pool area was lovely with plenty of seating. We ate lunch poolside a couple of times and went for a couple of night swims, since the pool stayed open until 10pm. There was ping pong and magnetic darts in the games area, and we introduced the kids to foosball during the week. They loved it. Bring a refillable water bottle, as there are two coolers for refills. We appreciated having those. Beach toys were also available, so we didn’t need the ones we’d packed. One afternoon a masseuse offered massages on the second floor of the overlook. It was affordable, a great massage, and listening to the ocean was perfect. They also set up a beach bonfire one night, a lovely end to the day. We especially loved the restaurant. Every meal was good, from pizza to seafood, including ceviche and chicharron de pescado made with the fish we caught on an excursion. Breakfast changed things up, and we particularly enjoyed the tamales, chicharron, and fruit and yogurt parfaits. Darwin made delicious drinks, with pina coladas and maracuya mojitos among our favorites. Rut, Diego, Darwin, Chef Carlos, and the rest of the team made the stay feel nearly perfect. Service was top notch, and we really appreciated everyone going the extra mile. The staff also helped us enjoy outings. We tried kayaking and the fishing and tortuga swimming setup through PDN, and all four of us had a good time. The kids searched the beach for shells throughout the week, and we watched the sunset each evening. On our last morning, we asked where we could buy one of the great hammocks before flying home. Diego found a few new ones for us to choose from, and we bought one right away. We wanted to unplug, so we brought books, card games, and coloring things to use at the beach or by the pool. It was the restful family week we badly needed.

The only thing I regretted was not booking a longer stay. Everything from the rooms and beach to the pool, food, and location was so good that I can’t picture staying anywhere else. The staff, from check-in through the restaurant, bar, rooms, and management, were kind, fun, and full of personality. They went out of their way to help with transportation and finding restaurants, and served us at all hours, even though speaking Spanish was difficult for us. The chef’s food was delicious, and the bar had a great choice of wine and cocktails. Punta del Norte Hotel deserves 10 stars.
