The grounds are beautifully landscaped, and there are lovely spaces for bigger events, including weddings. The rooms are spotless and look great too. It's a quick taxi ride into the town center.

Not having internet in my room turned out to be a plus. I could disconnect and enjoy some peace. We stayed four nights, and it made for a great short getaway. The view was lovely, there was hot water, and they have a tiny pool, though at about 70 cm deep it's not really somewhere for kids to jump in. During the rainy season, you probably wouldn't want to get in anyway. Breakfast was really good, with scrambled eggs, bread, yogurt, coffee, tea, milk, cold cuts, cookies, tamales, and smoothies. There's also a menu for lunch or dinner if you choose to eat at the hotel. I'd recommend this place completely.

The rooms are basic but okay. The internet was useless, and the service was the worst I've experienced since Cuba. Staff were unfriendly and unhelpful, often on Facebook on their phones and ignoring guests. There isn't a swimming pool, just a fish tank. I expected a quiet countryside hotel, but three diesel electric generators serving the whole city are next door, running from 6 a.m. to 11 p.m. The noise and smog were unbearable. A large public housing complex was also just built nearby, bringing more noise and security concerns. These things may be outside the hotel's control, but they still affect guests. Avoid.

My first visit to Chachapoyas, Peru was such a good experience. The area is beautiful, if a little rustic. I'll definitely come back.
