The morning service was good, and breakfast was nice to have. The staff were mostly good, but one person seemed angry whenever we asked for something, like spray to clean the bugs or more toilet paper when it ran out. We stayed two nights with friends. It wasn’t the worst experience, but it wasn’t very good either. The room smelled of mildew, and there were little bugs on the walls and ceiling, with a couple on the bunk beds in the back corner.

Most of the staff were kind and helpful, and the small complimentary breakfast was a nice touch. But it’s basically just a bed to sleep in. Our room smelled damp, with small bugs all over one wall. One staff member kept getting angry when we asked for spray to wipe them off or for toilet paper, which was often gone. Fine for one night, but I wouldn’t stay longer. We were there for two nights.

The beds were comfy and the location was excellent. Breakfast was satisfactory, with bread, orange juice, eggs, coffee and/or tea, and more. But I noticed hair on the beds when I first saw the room, the water boiler kept me awake, and I could hear people talking through the windows all night. There was mold in the bathrooms too. It’s good enough as a budget hotel.

The room smelled so strongly of mold that I couldn’t even sit in it. I requested a refund and wrote this review before checking out because I couldn’t breathe in there. About two hours later, I realized I’d left my earrings on the bedside table and went back for them. The man at the desk acted like he had to figure something out, then said he’d refunded me more than he should have because he was being nice, but I’d written two bad reviews. He acted as if that meant I couldn’t get my earrings and was quite hostile. I told him I’d posted the reviews before the refund happened. He gave me a hard time, but I went back and got them despite his dismay. Very strange vibes. At this point, I wouldn’t recommend the place.

Great value. We paid 100 soles for one night in a private room with its own bathroom, towels, and soap. The room was clean, and the staff were attentive and helpful. Breakfast was included no matter how early we left for our Machu Picchu entry: black coffee, eggs, bread, jam, butter, a banana, and juice. Great service.
