There are several restaurants nearby, and the Civic Plaza across the street gets very lively in the evenings. The service was excellent, and you can book days ahead.

For 85 soles, they included breakfast, and the room was small but cozy, with a king-size bed, wardrobe, table, street view, TV, bathtub, hot water, and a fan. I was with my wife and daughter for a few days, and we'd booked the best suite available based on recommendations from this site. They picked me up and took me to the hotel, and I paid in advance. Getting to the 4th floor on foot was exhausting. The place felt a bit dark and like a hostel as we went up. I didn't see anyone else in the hotel, which made me a little scared, though everything was fine. We stayed for just one day. It's in a very commercial area with a lot of noise, and the streets weren't very presentable because of the El Niño phenomenon, so the location felt a bit bad. Later, locals told me not to go there because it was somewhat dangerous. I'd give the hotel 5 out of 10, and 85 soles felt like a lot.

The single room was pleasant and affordable at 50 soles a night. It came with a private bathroom and cable TV, and it's well located, 15 minutes from the center.

The hostel is cozy, though it needs an elevator. Machu Picchu Hostels is on Sáenz Peña Avenue, opposite the Civic Plaza of the José Leonardo Ortiz Municipality. Happiness Pharmacy and Perfumery, a Poultry Shop, and Inkafarma and Mifarma supermarkets are next door, along with other businesses. The area can get a bit sweltering at night, so extreme caution is recommended.
