The bed was nice and the shower was hot, and the location was good. Breakfast was okay and mostly suited vegetarians. Rooms were cleaned daily, though nobody asked whether I wanted mine cleaned like they do at other places, which felt unsettling. There was no air conditioning, and just one working outlet suitable for charging devices, so I couldn't run the fan. I had to leave the room door open to cool things down. It was noisy in the daytime because of a nearby place with at least 10 roosters, and noisy at night from a nearby club. The toilet didn't always flush, and there was no toilet brush.

It's an older building, but Hotel Los Cocos does the job. There's parking on site, breakfast is included, and the restaurant serves in the evening. Rooms have fans but no air conditioning. The hotel is one block from the Plaza Mayor of Nuevo Chimbote. Transporte América is also a block away, with buses to Lima and Trujillo every hour for 19 soles.

I liked the room. It had nightlights and cables, and the bathroom was good. They also have rooms with air conditioning, though the fans they provide are enough.
