It was the small portable heater that made the cold room comfortable at night. The hotel itself was bright and very clean, and the staff were consistently friendly and helpful. Breakfast was basic.

We booked directly using the WhatsApp number and paid a little over half of what the online booking sites charged. My friends and I had three single rooms and all thought it was an excellent place to stay. The rooms were small but nicely furnished, and my bed had the best mattress I’ve had in Peru. Each room had a small electric heater, with plenty of blankets for the cold Andean night. The desk staff were very helpful. Breakfast wasn’t anything special, but it filled us up before we headed out to the canyon. We highly recommend it.

The tour company booked our one-night stay at Colca Canyon Hotel while my husband and I were visiting Colca Canyon. We had a great experience, with very friendly staff and an extremely clean room. All the linens were clean and looked brand new. The room felt chilly, but the small electric heater they gave us worked great and warmed it to a comfortable temperature. I’d highly recommend this hotel if you’re staying in Chivay, Peru.

The showers need a bit of patience before they warm up, but I slept comfortably in the modernized rooms. The breakfast portions were good, and inside the hotel is pretty, with a spacious lobby and eating area. It looks new, or at least renovated. I say 'surprisingly' because many people visiting the Colca canyon choose to stay in Arequipa, but this place is as good as, if not better than, many options there. Prices have gone up since my last stay, so I was lucky to get bang for my buck at $27 CAD a year ago, compared with $45 CAD as of this writing.
