I loved spending time by the water and around the lodge. The views of the lake are beautiful, and there are local things to do, like visiting a floating village or going fishing. If you can, walk up to the Luquina church for a stunning panoramic view. Guido and his family, especially his lovely little girls, made us feel so welcome and were incredibly kind. The lodge is peaceful and authentic. It’s about an hour’s drive from Puno, but the extra trip is worth it, and Guido can help arrange transfers. Gracias para todo ♥️

This stay with the Luquina Chico community, through the "Luquina Adventures Community Tourism Association," was a real community tourism experience. The initiative is locally run so tourism benefits are shared fairly among community members. The landscape around Lake Titicaca is breathtaking and made the journey worthwhile. My spacious family room had wonderful lake views, and the bathroom was large and clean. Hot water from the solar panels was reliable. There’s no heating in the rooms, but the cozy llama wool blankets kept me comfortable overnight. The food was simple, tasty, and satisfying. Guido also took me sailing on the lake, which I’ll remember for a long time. I arrived late, at 22:20, but Guido was waiting for my taxi, carried my luggage, and served me hot soup with rice and vegetables right away. That care set the tone for the whole visit. On the day I left, I caught the 7am public bus to Puno. Guido made an early breakfast and walked with me to the bus station. Outstanding warmth and hospitality throughout. I’d recommend it to people looking for meaningful travel beyond the usual tourist circuit.

The rooms are simple but comfortable, and the home-cooked food is fantastic. Guido and his family can arrange trips to Taquile or the floating islands. There’s plenty to do close by, from hiking and spending time with the animals to relaxing in hammocks by the water. We kayaked a few kilometers to a gorgeous beach, too. It’s a beautiful, peaceful town right on Lake Titicaca, a lovely place to spend a few days. Highly recommend.

We were so sad to leave Titicaca Lodge. Guido and his family made us feel completely at home, with comfortable rooms, panoramic views, and home-cooked meals. It was the most special and memorable part of our Peru trip, and a chance to experience Peruvian culture away from the tourist circuit. We were the only tourists on a tiny Uros Island, climbed a hill with Guido and his daughter to watch the sunset, helped plant a potato field, and travelled by boat back to Puno via Taquile Island. If you want a different experience of Lake Titicaca, come here. Guido and his family will welcome you warmly.

The community and Luquina are special, peaceful, and surrounded by nature. Guido and his lovely family were so welcoming, offered clear communication, and suggested activities both in and outside the community. Spending time with them gave us a chance to see what everyday life around Titicaca is like. The home-cooked food was absolutely delicious and very fairly priced. This was one of the best experiences I’ve had in years of travelling. I can’t recommend it enough. If I could, I’d go back right now! Muchas gracias para todo Guido!
