Ankawa Hotel Boutique

The hotel is basic, with location as its main plus. It’s very close to the city center, and there are markets, restaurants and pharmacies nearby, even the bus station. The bed was very comfortable, and the shower was hot and powerful. There are a few things they could improve. The bathroom is very small, and the sink has nowhere to put personal items. A simple shelf would help. There’s no glass enclosure around the shower, so the area gets very wet. The bathroom hair dryer didn’t work, so we had to ask at the front desk for one. Ask ahead, since there’s no intercom and you otherwise have to go to reception with wet hair. Breakfast was okay, but could have had more kinds of cakes, pies and similar things. The TVs aren’t smart, so you only get local channels, not Netflix and the like. It’s a basic hotel for a few nights.

The location was excellent and the price was fair. The Wi-Fi was extremely unstable, and the shower pressure was too strong with a temperature that was hard to control. The toilet window was clear and faced the street. They took away the soap and didn’t replace it.

Bryan at the front desk was friendly and very helpful. The room was clean and nicely put together, with firm enough bedding. The hotel is close to just about everything, including Plaza De Arma and Quricancha. The front desk also called a taxi to the airport for us, which cost 20 soles one way. Breakfast was a bit small, but okay.

The views were great, and it was about a 5-10 minute walk to the center. The accommodation was nice, with hot water and thick blankets. We left too early to try breakfast, which was served from 7am to 10am.
